Obituary

Ernest K. Hill was born on October 14, 1950, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Ora Mae and Johnny Hill. On June 25, 2026, he peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to his family.

Ernest attended Howard Academy before enrolling in the Job Corps, where he trained as a diesel mechanic. His commitment to his craft led to a successful career with Fairchild - Florida, later known as Anderson - Columbia Co. Through more than 30 years of faithful service, he earned the respect of coworkers and friends before retiring in 2023.

In 1974, Ernest married the love of his life, Daphne Tyson. Their marriage was blessed with two children and a lifetime of shared memories, love, and unwavering commitment.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Mae and Johnny Hill, and his brothers, Ira J. Hill and Vernon Hill.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife of many years, Daphne Hill; his loving daughter, Shondalo (Tyrone) Henderson of Stonecrest, Georgia; his devoted son, Fredrick Hill of Lilburn, Georgia; his sister, Johnnie Ruth Hill of Monticello, Florida; his sisters-in-law, Sarah Hill of Melbourne, Florida, Carolyn (Willie) Wade of Thomasville, GA; brother in law, Jessie (Sharon) Tyson of Douglas, GA; and his treasured grandchildren, Anayia Austin, Ashley Williams, Fredrick Hill Jr., Zarria Henderson, and Myles Henderson.

He also leaves to mourn his passing a beloved cousin, Yvonne Johnson; special nieces, Brandy Hardy, Michelle Patterson, and Angela Jones; special nephews, Kendrick Hill and Anthony J. Hill; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Though Ernest's earthly journey has ended, his legacy of faithfulness, love, and perseverance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
