A TIME TO BE BORN
Elder Ellis Fann was born the tenth of then children to the late Dan and Della
Fann in Mitchell County, Georgia, on August 14, 1932.
A TIME TO LEARN
Elder Fann received his education from the Lincoln High School in Ochlocknee,
Georgia. He served in the Medical Corp in 1952 with Korean Conflict. Elder
Fann furthered his education by attending Thomas Technical School and obtained
a degree in Brick Masonry. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in
Biblical Studies from Bethany Seminary College in Dothan, Alabama. He later
started a construction company that lasted more than 40 years, known as Ellis
Fann and Sons Construction.
A TIME TO LOVE AND BE LOVED
Elder Ellis Fann met the love of his life, Bessie Lee (Willis) Fann and married on
April 22, 1956. Together they have seven children.
A TIME TO SERVE
Elder Ellis Fann accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour at the Morning Star
Missionary Baptist Church in Meigs, Georgia. In 1969, he accepted the call to
preach the gospel and become a Shepherd, which was the beginning of his
Ministerial Journey.
The Call to Ministry - Elder Fann was called to serve as The Pastor of
Evergreen Congregational Church in Beachton, Georgia. This was his first call.
The Abrahamian Ministry – Elder Fann was later called to Pastor The African
Baptist Church in Live Oak, Florida. This was his call to walk by faith and to
accomplish and grow the ministry with limited resources.
The Walk of Faith Ministry – Elder Fann accepted the call as pastor of The
New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. This was
his call to go forward without knowing where and what to expect.
The Ministry of Obedience – Elder Fann obeyed the call of the Lord and
became Founder/Pastor of The Family and Friends Missionary Baptist Church
that was later changed to Family and Friends Full Gospel Church in Thomasville,
Georgia. He pastored there for 29 years.
COMMUNITY SERVICE – Elder Ellis Fann served his beloved community for
several years as a Civil Rights leader and activist along with the late Dr. I. L.
Mullins and the late Curtis Thomas.

Former President – Thomas County NAACP, Thomasville, GA (served 3 terms
in this capacity)

Former Grand Master – The Joppa Lodge – 32nd Degree Mason
