Elizabeth Henderson Harper passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024 at Harbor View Thomasville. Elizabeth was born on January 13, 1927, in Thomasville, GA. She was the daughter of the late Haywood and Petronia Higdon. She married the late Jack Henderson at an early age. Elizabeth was also a faithful member of Clifford Temple Church.
She attended Douglass High School and would eventually be employed by Dr. Zavaletta Office in Thomasville, GA as a Nurse's Assistant for
16 years.
In 1970, Elizabeth relocated from Thomasville to Hartford, CT. She joined Hopewell Baptist Church and later married James Harper. There were no children from this union. Elizabeth retired from Anderson
Lab Group after 17 years of service and transferred back to Thomasville, GA after Mr. Harper's death.
Elizabeth was a faithful member at both churches. She was a Choir member, Missionary Board Member, Usher Board member and member of the Neighborhood Block Club where she obtained many lifelong friendships. Her hobbies included attending church, dining out with friends, traveling, fishing and spending time with family.
Family members preceding Elizabeth in death were both spouses, Jack Henderson and James Harper, her daughter, Lynette Henderson and her son, Jack J. Henderson.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Gloria Small, two daughters, Sarah Cooney of Metcalf, GA, Johnnie Charles (Jerome) of Hartford, CT, sons, Robert Henderson Sr (Mamie) of Jacksonville, FL, Norman
Henderson, godson Damont Batchelor of Bloomfield, CT and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
