Ms. Elinor Hadley Brown, the daughter of the late Norman Hadley and Kathryn Hadley, was born in Grady County, GA on July 20, 1943.
At an early age, she joined Rocky Hill A.M.E. church as a child, later moving her membership to Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville, Georgia, where she was an active member until her health began to decline. She attended Washington Consolidated High School in Grady County. She was an avid baker for many years at Melissa's Restaurant in Thomasville, GA, known for her infamous cheesecakes.
On May 5, 2024, Elinor answered her Saviors call and transitioned from this life to be with our father in heaven.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Darriel Vickers Sr (Angie), Havana, FL, and Robert L. Vickers, Jr., Thomasville, GA; a devoted daughter, Linda Vickers, Thomasville, GA; brother, Elmer Hadley (Barbara), Thomasville, GA; six grand-children, Darriel Vickers, Jr., Thomasville, GA, Anthony Walden, Tampa, FL, Cassandra Vickers-Williams, Thomasville, GA, Robert L. Vickers, III, Orlando, FL, Shayla Vickers, Greenville, North Carolina, and Kristen Vickers, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Khristiona Bates, A'zah Bates, Ja'Riyah Williams, Tie'Ryelle Williams, and Tyrell Williams Jr., all of Thomasville, GA, and Caiden Lifhard, Havana, FL; a Goddaughter, Vanessa Abbassi, Tallahassee, FL; a special friend, Ida DeLois Pew, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and life-long friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jean Carr; brother-in-law, Lucious Carr, Sr., aunt, Willie Mae Kirksey; nephews, Mark Carr, Lloyd (Clint) Hadley; grandparents, Dot Robinson and Goodie Robinson; and favorite cousin, Cora Sue Jones.
