Jackie, as she was known, was born in Thomasville, GA., to parents Sylvester Riles and Gloria Louise Riles, who preceded her in death. From a young age, she displayed a vibrant spirit and a kind heart. She cherished her relationship with her family and friends.

Jackie attended Douglas Elementary and Middle School. During the initial process of the full integration of public schools in the city of Thomasville, she attended and graduated from Thomasville High. Upon graduation, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, and worked with the US Postal Service. Years later, she returned to Thomasville, where she later married Alonzo Virgil, who preceded her in death, in February of this year. She has one surviving son, Darryl J. Douglas, the love of her life, whom she cherished to the end.She enjoyed most genres of music, dancing, and never met a stranger. She is the godmother of Glenda Terrell, and they both enjoyed showering each other with much love and affection. Jackie had a strong belief and faith in God, and enjoyed reading the bible and sharing scriptures with others when opportunities allowed. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Tyron Tise and Vaughn W. Riles. She is survived by four sisters; Ella Jean Harris, Gloria Jean Jackson, Geneva Satterwhite (Anthony), and Glenda Riles; two brothers; Arthur R. Barber (Jewel), and James W. Riles (Chequeta); two sister-in-laws, Anna Mae Tise (Tyrone) and Barbara Riles (Vaughn); a special cousin who she embraced as a sister, Loretta Mathis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
