Mrs. Deborah Gardner Asbey was born January 5, 1953 to Andrew and Hattie Gardner, in Thomasville, GA. Deborah went to Douglas High School, Thomasville, GA., she also completed her Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling at Thomas University.
Deborah accepted Christ as her savior at an early age at Willowhead Missionary Baptist Church, and later moved her membership to Restoration Outreach Family Worship Center Inc. in Thomasville, GA under the leadership of Pastor Roy and Lady Tabitha Johnson, where she served as one of the mothers of the church. She was a faithful member and loved the Lord.
Deborah was joined in Holy Matrimony to Jerome Asbey on April 14, 1998. She was an employee of Vashti Center Rehab, were she retired in 2020. She was loved by her church family, coworkers and family.
She departed this life on February 11, 2022 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
Preceded in death by her parents. Andrew Gardner, Sr., Hattie Mae Gardner, her sisters, Patricia Gardner Walden, Lillie Mae Lee, brother, Greg Gardner, Sr., father and mother in law, John and Alberta Asbey, sister in law, Derrie Gardner, nieces, Delores Walden, Antrena Gardner, nephew, Harold Porter, Jr., and brother in laws, Richard Asbey.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a beloved husband, Jerome Asbey; two sons, Ricardo Johnson, Sr., David Demetrius Johnson, Thomasville, GA; three caring sisters, Betty (Jeremiah) Arrington, Thomasville, GA, Tirene (Otis) Heard, Tammie Gardner, Atlanta, GA; loving brothers, Andrew Gardner, Jr., Thomasville, GA, Mathis (Aletha) Gardner, Lanham, Maryland; sister in laws, Johnnetta Asbey Greene, Tallahassee, FL, Gail Lewis, Brenda Latimer, Renee Senior (James), Joyce Douglas; brother in laws, Shelly Lee, Jr., Charles Walker, Mark Asbey, Eric Jones (Phillipa), Stanley Jones (Angelia) and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
