Curtis Butler, Sr.

Curtis Butler, Sr., son of the late Willie C. Butler and Minnie Lee Wilson-Butler, was born May 5, 1946 in Mitchell County, GA.

A loving father and grandfather, Curtis attended Mitchell County Training School. Afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Army from 1965-1969 where he was honorably discharged. Following his father's footsteps who was as a World War II Veteran, he was a Vietnam Veteran.

Curtis departed this life Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in Thomasville, GA.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Irene Brown Butler; two daughters, Michelle Rivers of Orlando, FL and Mekisha (Dewayne) Cunningham of Cibolo, TX; two sons, Curtis Butler, Jr., of Thomasville, GA and Dante' Butler of Ramstein, Germany; one sister, Lavearn Butler Brooker; one brother, Willie A. Butler; ten grandchildren, loving  sister-in-law, Sally Griggs, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Christopher Brown, and sister, Mamie Sue Augusta.
