Clarence Hedrington was born on November 10, 1927 on the island of Tortola, British Virgin Islands. He was 1 of 49 children born to Herbert & Xzeria Hedrington.
He served in the Korean War and returned to the Virgin Islands in 1945 to start a new life. He was married to Frances Hedrington for 43 years and had six children; Ted, Cheryl, John, Dixie, Ruth & Anthony. Many generations later, he’s a great, great grandfather. Later, he entered into holy matrimony with Dr. Emma Lee Hedrington, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
He was a businessman on the island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands owned a Texaco Gas Station, the first trucking service in the islands, Teddy’s Leasing, a Holsum Bread distributorship and many business ventures. He was lovingly known as “Dada” throughout the U.S. & British Virgin Islands.
He traveled across the globe on business ventures and later after accepting Christ as his personal savior, focused on church development, spiritual training and moved full time into the service for the Lord.
He created the Virgin Islands Baptist Mission, Inc., in 1967. The creation of the Virgin Islands Bible Institute with the goal of properly training pastors, church administrators and evangelizing the Caribbean. A Christian day academy for the education of children.
