Christian Emanuel Wilson was born on July 8, 2021, in Albany, Georgia, to Jaylin Wilson and Zacqwon Jackson.
Christian’s entrance into this world came despite man’s opinion and because of God’s divine intervention on July 8, 2021, along with his twin brother, Cameron. Christian was impacted by polycystic kidney disease and had to immediately be flown to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama to receive life saving treatment. Although he was greatly impacted by the disease and its effects, Christian persevered like none other. He was strong, brave, and a champion throughout his life. His courage was evident by his determination to live beyond his condition with joy and contentment.
Despite everything he endured, Christian’s smile had a way of lighting up every room. It was a smile that brought comfort, joy, and hope to those who loved him. Though he was nonverbal, Christian had his own special way of communicating. If he didn’t want something, he would give the funniest little side-eye that said everything he needed to say, often making those around him laugh. His expressions spoke volumes and became one of the many things his family will forever cherish.
Christian’s favorite thing to do was watching Elmo. Watching Elmo brought him pure happiness, and once it was on, there was no turning it off. His laughter, excitement, and love for his favorite red friend filled his home with warmth and reminded everyone to find joy in life’s simplest moments. Christian also loved watching his brothers run and play, and especially enjoyed his playtime with his sister, Chloe.
Christian’s courage inspired the creation of an Annual Kidney Disease Awareness Walk called Crazy Faith for Christian. This led to a nationwide day of wearing green for Team Christian. Christian experienced countless miracles and endless love witnessed by people from all walks of life.
Christian Emanuel Wilson’s life changed everyone around it. He taught us patience. He taught us sacrificial love. He taught us that every life matters. Christian’s life invited people to love without expecting anything in return except another smile or another giggle.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Great Grandparents: Runetta Hill and Eddie Gilbert Sr.
