Charlie Powell, Jr.

Charlie Powell, Jr. was born on October 22, 1942 in Metcalf, Georgia, to the late Charlie Powell, Sr. and late Mamie Ross Powell. He began his education at Metcalf School and later continued at Magnolia High School. In 1965, he relocated to Miami, Florida, where he spent many dedicated years working at Holsum Bakery.

Charlie was united in marriage to Lillian Powell, and together they raised three children: Sharon Powell Jones, Alvin Powell, and the late Charlie Powell, III.

He is also preceded in death by three siblings: Mamie Powell, Ross Payne, and Johnny Payne.

He leaves behind five beloved siblings: Barbara Payne, Gladys Shotwell, Berlinda Frazier, Albert Payne, and Kenneth Payne; Grandchildren: Jeremiah Powell, Jordan Jones, Keldrick Powell, Kendrick Powell, Justin Powell; Great Grandchildren: Melody and Justice Powell, Braylin Powell and a host of other relatives and friends.

Charlie will be remembered for his warmth, strong work ethic, and love for his family. He leaves a host of sorrowing friends and relatives, including two cherished aunts: Alean Ross of Atlanta, Georgia, and Therasa Ross of Washington, D.C.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
