Charles Brooker

Charles "Booker" Brooker was born on July 28, 1951 to the late Ceola Brooker McNeil and the late Eddie Dixon, Sr. in Pelham, GA.

Charles was married to Lavearn Butler in January 1970 and from this union three children were born; George Anthony, Chelsea Renee' and Kimberly Ammeriah Brooker.

While employed at Sunnyland Meat Packaging Company, Charles met his life partner, Janie Mae Haliburton, who precedes him in death. They both shared in a love for fishing. After Sunnyland closed the doors in 2000, Charles went on to be not only one of the best cement finishers around this area, but also auto mechanics until his health began to fail. Even after his health began to fail, if anyone needed him for anything, he was still there as much as he could be.

Charles is survived by his children, Chelsea Merrill, George and Kimberly Booker, all of Thomasville, GA; his grandchildren, Janeecia Brooker of Albany, GA, Kourtney Brooker of Tallahassee, FL, Courtney Brooker of Gainesville, FL; Tyran "David" Brooker and Ta'Briya Merrill, both of Thomasville, GA, Jordan Thomas and Dontae Lee of Thomasville, GA; three great grandchildren, Jordai Brooks, Jaiya Glenn of Thomasville, GA, Kalii Laster of Albany, GA; his bonus children, who loved him dearly, Jacqueline (Joseph) Lundy, Linda (Terry) Willis, Donta (Erica) Haliburton of Thomasville, GA, Stanley (Shakyra) Haliburton of Quitman, GA; fifteen bonus grandchildren; one god daughter, Tameka Samuel-Smith, three sisters, Stephanie (Keith) McNeil Calhoun, Janice (Ivia Sommerville) McNeil of Alexandria, VA, Constance (Chris) McNeil Mayeri of Gainesville, VA; four brothers, Stephen McNeil of Alexandria, VA, Douglas McNeil of Warfordsburg, PA, Eddie Dixon, Jr. of Moultrie, GA; two nieces, Ashley McNeil of of Alexandria, VA, and Olivia Mayeri of Gainesville, VA; three nephews, Brian and Michael McNeil of of Alexandria, VA, Christian Mayeri of Gainesville, VA and a host of friends and family that will truly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard McNeil.
