Charlene Davenport Wyche

Charlene Davenport Wyche entered her eternal rest on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Archbold Memorial Hospital with her loved ones at her side.

She was born on August 8, 1960, in Thomasville, GA to Willie Mae Bowdry and Charlie Bowdry, Sr.

During her life she attended Thomasville City Schools and graduated from Thomasville High School in 1978. After graduating from high school, she attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College "ABAC" in Tifton, GA. She was then employed by Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, where she worked as an Unit Secretary in the Emergency Room for 30 years. During her long wonderful 30 years at Archbold, she was known for being caring, kind and having a bubbly personality.  She was also known for her beautiful brown eyes, smile, and her stylish uniform appearance. Appearance was everything to her. After 30 years, she retired from Archbold Memorial Hospital. She spent the rest of her time after retiring devoting her life to her family and just enjoying life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, fishing, sewing, traveling and just being with family. She enriched the lives of everyone she met. She would give her very last to anyone that was in need.

She was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves behind a legacy filled with laughter, warm memories, and her secret ingredient of Love to all her wonderful dishes of food to her family.

Her love and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of many. Charlene leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Phillip Wyche of Thomasville, GA; her children, Tiffany (Joshua) Biggins Davis of Thomasville, GA and Montreal Biggins of Atlanta, GA; her loving sister and rider, Janice (Ira) McCray; her grandchildren, Mark Young, Jr. of Thomasville, GA, Markus Young of Thomasville, GA, Harrbrianna Biggins of Houston, Texas, Lloydrica Hudson of Valdosta, GA, Lavonte Cole of Thomasville, GA, Montreal Biggins, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; her great grandson, Braylon Harrison of Moultrie, GA; her siblings, Charlie (Agretta)  Bowdry, Jr. of Thomasville, GA, Lorenzo Bowdry of Jacksonville, FL, Latasha Bowdry of Cairo, GA; aunt, Annette Baynard of Quitman, GA; nephews and nieces, Charlie Bowdry, III of Thomasville, GA, Sheldon Green of Cairo, GA, Devonte Bowdry of Atlanta, GA, Phillip McIntyre of Albany, GA, Jackie Bowdry of Jacksonville, FL, Karlie Bowdry of Thomasville, GA, Kallie Bowdry of Cairo, GA, Kemonie Matthews of Cairo, GA, Keirra Daniels of Cairo, GA; special cousins, Charles Baynard of Valdosta, GA, Sharon Morrow of Valdosta, GA; special friend, Eartha Scott Davis of Thomasville, GA; sisters in law, Monique Wyche of Valdosta, GA, Adrian Wyche of Boston, GA, Jullete Gosier of Tallahassee, FL, Shirlette (Kevin) Dean Boyton Delray Beach, FL; bother in law, Michael Wyche of Boston, GA and a host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Mae Chester, father, Charlie Bowdry, Sr., grandmother, Rosa Lee Biggins, grandfather, RC Biggins, uncles, James E. Biggins, Johnny Lee Biggins and step father, Deacon Jimmy Chester.
