Caretha Hill, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend gained her wings on January 25, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was a dedicated member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Coolidge Georgia. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and kindness that her family will continue to fulfill.
Caretha was an amazing woman with a generous heart of gold. She loved to love on people no matter who they were. She never met a stranger. Everyone spoke of her as being an angel on earth. She was truly one of a kind. Caretha welcomed everyone in her home and if anyone needed anything no matter what it was she was there for them. She was a bright light, one of a kind that will be deeply missed by all.
Caretha did not have the opportunity of a formal education due to having to support her family. At the age of 16, she asked her mom and dad if she could marry. She married the late David Hill Sr in 1950 and went on to have 7 of his children. The work ethics of this woman are unheard of. Caretha was one of the first African American women to work in the fields of Coolidge Georgia. She recruited others in the community as well. She wanted to make sure that she could get many of the people in the community jobs so they could provide for their families as well. She was able to feed and clothes so many families throughout the community. Her heart was huge and pure.
Caretha Wilson Hill was born in Thomasville Georgia on May 30, 1934 to the late Hattie and Malachi Wilson.
