Betty Lovejoy

Betty Lovejoy was born January 19, 1948 to the late Mr. Charlie Simpson and Mrs. Doris M. Carter. She attended Lincoln Brown High School in Meigs, GA.

She joined Morning Star Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined St. Peter Missionary Baptist in Pelham, GA. She worked for the Thomas County School System for 30 years as a Bus Driver until her health declined.

She married the late Mr. Robert Lovejoy, whom preceded her in death. From this union one daughter, Monica Lovejoy and three grandchildren, Atavis Lovejoy, Tyzquia Brown, MaeLijah Brown; two great grandchildren, Kyll and Amirah.

Betty departed her life on February 11, 2022 at her home.

She also leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Eleise Carter of Meigs, GA, Vanessa Carter of Meigs, GA, Sandra McKinzie of Ocala, FL; eight brothers, Charles Carter of Meigs, GA, Gregory Carter of Meigs, GA, Mickey Simpson of Tampa, FL, Michael Simpson of Tampa, FL, Diana Simpson of Tampa, FL, Curtis Simpson of Tampa, FL, John Simpson of Tampa, FL; one stepbrother, Charlie Simpson of Atlanta, GA; three aunts, Emma Pearl Maeway, Annie Doris Lovejoy, Jenny Mills; seven sister in laws, five brother in laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, six aunts, eight uncles, three sister in laws and three brother in laws.
