Barbara Corine Johnson

Ms. Barbara Corine Johnson was born in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Margaret Bates and late Charles Bryant, Sr. on December 10, 1952. Early childhood education was received in the Thomas County School system, and she later returned and received her GED.

Ms. Johnson started her journey with Christ in her early years at Willowhead Missionary Baptist Church. That walk with Christ ended as a member of Covenant Christian Center where she was a loving, devoted and committed member. Sister Barbara started her journey with Covenant Christian Center as an Usher, ensuring that the people's first point of contact was a pleasant experience. She served on the Outreach Committee, going out into the community, evangelizing the Word of God. Sister Barbara was also a part of the ministry's Media Department. Sister Barbara was a candidate to be elevated as the fourth Church Mother at the next Ordination Service at Covenant Christian Center.

Ms. Johnson's best work can be reflected in the life of her three daughters. She was a woman of tremendous strength and taught her daughters to be likewise. She believed in "training up a child in the way he should go" and put this command into action with her daughters.

Ms. Johnson was a joy to those who knew her. She was a source of motivation and encouragement and was strong in her faith in God. She is survived by her daughters, Angela Smith, Hephzibah, GA and Catina Bryant, Thomasville, GA; sister, Linda Bryant (Frank), Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, LaDarian Smith, Los Angeles, CA, Khadija Barnhill, Thomasville, GA, Miracle Hayes, Omaha, NE and Christian Smith, Hephzibah, GA; adopted daughter, Charlean Donald (Tyrone), Meigs, GA and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bryant, Sr., mother, Margaret Bates, brother, Charles Bryant, Jr. and daughter Felicia Bryant.
