Arthur Lee Hadley was born on July 15, 1950, and peacefully entered into rest on November 17, 2025. Born to Mattie Lee Hadley and Peter Henry, he built a life marked by dedication, loyalty, and love. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clara Frances Hadley, his children, April Elaine Hadley, and Catherine Hadley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
For 45 years, Arthur was a faithful and loyal employee at Balfour Timber Company, where he was respected for his steady work ethic and commitment.
He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be forever cherished by his children: Mahalia Hadley, Robert (Diane) Hadley, Brian (Kelly) Hadley, Willie (Lillie) Monroe, and Jimmy Monroe (Barry). He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren: Malissia Crompton, Kyra Hadley, Ericka Hadley, Brandon Hadley, DeAndre Hadley, Destiny James, Travaris Pickett, Cedric Robinson, Jr., Bradford Hadley, Mariah Hadley, Kenzlie Hadley, and Marisa Hadley. He had two great-grandchildren, Mahlik Crompton and Thai’ler Marable, and he was joyfully awaiting the arrival of another great-grandson in December.
He is also survived by his siblings, Ira (LaVerne) Daniels, Sr., Elnora Daniels, Lee Earl Daniels, Sidney Daniels; sister-in-laws, Priscilla Donald, and Jerutha Scott; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Mickens, Robbie Mickens, and Brunus Mickens. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whose lives were deeply touched by his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. His spirit will continue to be honored by all who knew him.
Arthur’s life was a testament to quiet strength, humility, and devotion to family. He found joy in simple moments —sharing stories, offering a helping hand, and being a steady source of support. Some of his happiest days were spent fishing with his sons, grandsons, and friends, where laughter and good memories flowed as easily as the water below. Those cherished moments on the lake will forever be remembered by the ones who stood beside him with a rod in hand. His generosity, loyalty, and gentle nature will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the lessons he shared will continue to guide those he leaves behind.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy live on in every heart he touched.
