Annie B. Smith Brooks

Annie B. Smith Brooks, a cherished wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, was born to Chester and Mamie Smith on October 15, 1940. She peacefully left her earthly home on Friday, December 27, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, kindness and unwavering dedication for her family.

Annie B. was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joyce Brooks; one son, Willie Freeman Brooks, Jr.; two brothers, Joseph Smith and Eugene Smith; sisters, Gussie Williams, Susie Hayes and Betty Dawson.

Annie B. attended Centennial Consolidated School. Throughout her life she demonstrated her unwavering work ethic in the community.

She enjoyed life. She loved her family and friends. At an early age, Annie B. confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Patten, GA. Later on in her adulthood, she joined the Good Shepherd Holiness Church, Thomasville, GA under the pastorate of the late Jimmie (Mother) Mitchell in 1993. She joined the New Covenant Church under the pastorate of Dave Allen.

Annie B. love and memories will be cherished forever by her devoted husband Willie Freeman Brooks; loving aunt, Marjorie Mullins; loving children, Patricia Skidmore, Thomasville, GA; Annie (Ronald) McCoy, Thomasville, GA; Emma (Richard) Wright, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Shirley (Eddie) Butler, Southfield, MI; Peggie (Bernard) Montgomery, Jacksonville, FL; Brenda Gail Baker, Thomasville, GA; Carolyn (Ronald) Killens, Thomasville, GA; two loving sisters, Katherine Lewis, Thomasville, GA; Lorene Jemison of Buffalo, NY; five caring sisters in law, Maxie Hohnson, Earl (Georgia) Brooks, of Thomasville, GA, Doris Smith of Boston, GA, Birdells Brooks of Lansdale, PA and Carolyn Allen of Philadelphia, PA; two devoted brothers in law, Earl Brooks and Alexander Hayes of Thomasville, GA. Annie B will leave behind a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
