Annie Grace Henderson was born March 6, 1939, to the late Robert and Lizzie Duncan Henderson in Thomas County, Georgia.
Ann graduated from Douglas High School in 1957. She then attended Savannah State College and graduated with a BS degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation in June of 1963. She also attended Kansas State University for several years through-out the summer in a master's degree program. She has been a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority since November 21, 1960. She loved tending to her flowers in the yard as well as plants she would place in the rose parade every year. She was also a long-time member of the civic garden club.
Ann was never married, nor did she have any children of her own.
At an early age, Ann accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully attended and assisted wherever she was needed. She moved to Miami, Fl and was employed at Florida Memorial College as Asst. Professor for over 25 years.
Survivors include one brother in-law, Richard Waitts of Warner Robins, GA; one sister in-law, Lucille Henderson of Thomasville, GA; her beloved nieces and nephews, Phyllis Waitts Napier (Rev. Dr. Lindsey P. Napier Sr.) of Warner Robins, GA, Lee Norris Brown of Thomasville, GA, Rev. Anthony L. Henderson (Deborah) of Cairo, GA, Donald Henderson (Yolanda) of Lawton, OK, Barbara Tillman, Titus Tillman, Jr. (Felicia) of Tallahassee, FL, Eric Tillman (Tabitha) of Birmingham, AL, Marsha L. Henderson of Dayton, OH, Dorothy Henderson of Lagrange, GA.
She had six other siblings in which all preceded her in death. Robert Henderson, Jr. (Lois) of Dayton, Oh., Doc Henderson (Mary), Martha Waitts (Richard) of Thomasville, Ga., Margie Tillman (Titus), Mack Henderson, Earvin Henderson of Miami, Fl. Three others were raised as her siblings: W.L. Henderson (deceased), Christine Walden (deceased), and Alease Green, all of Miami, Fl. Many grand nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and friends.
