Alvin E. Ford was born to Alvin Ford Sr. and the late Christine Ford on August 17, 1963 in Thomasville, GA. He attended the city school system, graduating from Thomasville High School in 1982. While in high school, Alvin joined the Pi Rho Psi Fraternity, which he was so proud of and loved until the day he died. After high school, Alvin took on several jobs. He was once employed with the Thomasville Police Dept., Johnsons Cleaning Services, Payless Shoe Store, Archbold Medical Center and Southwestern State Hospital. Upon the closing of SWSH, he returned back to Archbold Medical Center where he worked until his health failed him.
Alvin accepted Christ at an early age. He joined St. Luke C.M.E. Church in November of 2010 under Pastor Anthony Q. Choice. He was a faithful servant for the Lord. Alvin served as the Pastor's armor bearer and one of the intercessors for the church. In 2014, God called him to ministry. He graduated from the Zion Christian Bible Institute, Inc. of Thomasville, GA. in November, where he was the student of the year under Overseer Dr. William L. Bradley and Elder Linda Ann Bradley. In July 2018 under Pastor Cheryl E. Goliday, Alvin became the minister of the youth and young adult ministry which he so dearly loved. Alvin loved to sing, he was a member of St. Luke praise team, the choir and a faithful member of the Moving Forward Concert Choir (MFCC) tenor section. In 2020 in the midst of the covid19 pandemic and his health issues, Alvin would still sing and give God all the glory and praise along with his coworkers at Archbold to help uplift the spirit of other staff members and patients.
The Lord called Alvin to rest forever in His peaceful arms on
November 22, 2021.
