Alvin Butler was born of February 5, 1960 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late William H. Butler and the late Eva E. Butler.
At an early age, he joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Thomasville High School graduating class of 1978. After graduating from high school, he attended Thomas University. His work can be seen in Thomas County and surrounding counties. For over 40 years, he continues his passion as a painter.
Alvin leaves a legacy of love and fun memories to be cherished by his wife, Nancy Butler; two loving daughters, LaToya (Dravarse) Simmons, Brittany Bable; caring sister, Sandra (Richard) Brown; three brothers, Robbie (Sydratis) Smith of Maryland, Walden (Mary Beth) Walker of Colorado, Dr. William (Dr. Juanita) Butler of Maryland, Chaplain Jerry Butler (Glennis) of Tampa, FL; a caring sister in laws, Jeanette Ceasar, Gloria Smith; brother in law, John Armstrong (Tiffany) of Thomasville, GA; six grandchildren, who meant the world to him, Jayden Bable, Ty'Marion Stephens, Amariah Stephens, Xavier Bable, Aria Clark, Eli Simmons; two aunts, Sallie Dodson of Atlanta, Christine Bethel of Miami, FL; nieces, Shaquita (Cedric), Shandrina (Freeman), LaShunta, Latravette, Kimberly (John), Tameka, Jasmine, Quandolyn (Lee), Elizabeth, Christine, Alison; nephews, Kenneth (Christina), Letywan (Saquea), Ronald, Troy, Charles, Ricardo (Telisa), Terrell (Nikki); four special friends, Mark Jones, Chris Rodd, Terrell (Donna) Jones, Michael Wolfe "The Dewey City Crew" and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Kathleen Butler, brother, Charles J. Smith and brother in law, Wille J. Armstrong.
