Alma Boddie was born on October 22, 1938, to Otis and Josie Franklin in Thomasville, GA.
Alma accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She attended Clifford Temple CME Church while in Thomasville, GA. Once she moved to Atlanta, GA, she became a member of World Changers International.
Alma graduated from Douglass High School in 1955. After graduating, she worked as an office secretary at Douglass High before leaving for college. She attended Fort Valley State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and then she attended Georgia State College, where she earned her Master’s degree in Business Education. Alma was a teacher for the Atlanta Public School System for 35 years before retiring. After retiring, she continued her teaching journey as a substitute teacher on and off for about 12 years.
Alma leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Rodney Miller of Atlanta, GA; her beloved grandchildren, Kalandra Michelle Miller of Texas, Clinton Antoine Miller of Atlanta, GA; sisters in laws, Joann Franklin of Thomasville, GA, Ethelene Franklin of Kansas; brothers in law, Willie Carr of Atlanta, GA, Elmer Thompson of Thomasville, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Josie Franklin; sisters, Cynthia Carr, Dorothy Thompson, Christine Daniels; brothers, Bobby Franklin, Curtis Franklin; nieces, Cynthia Franklin, Katrina Franklin; nephew, Darryl Duncan; and brother-in-law, Joseph Daniels.
