Allen Williams

October 22, 1922 — May 25, 2022

Allen Williams was born on October 12, 1922 to Lewis and Addie Williams in Eustis Florida. He relocated to Leon County. While visiting Beachton, Georgia, he met Minnie Lee Holton, whom he later married. To this union, ten children were born.

Allen attended Mt Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Thomasville Georgia. He later joined New Vision in Calvary, Georgia.

He worked at Springwood Plantation for 45 years, where he retired. Every day, he walked from home to work so when his children's friends would see him from the school bus, they gave him the nickname "Dusty Foot"; he also had another nickname, "Fireball".

Allen was known to everyone as a hard worker. On Sunday morning, he would start his routine of getting up early and feeding his animals. While he worked, he would sing a while and then whistle a while. Wow, he could whistle like a trumpet! He loved talking about the Lord and he would start preaching if you were around him long enough. He also loved his country. Allen had three grandsons who served in the Armed Forces, two who served in the Navy and one in the Army. He always wanted to see them in their uniform.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Williams, his sons, Major Williams, John Williams and grandson, Gyromeka Young.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Pastor Daisy Morris of Tallahassee, FL; son Allen Williams (Natalie) of Thomasville, GA, daughter, Addie Dennis of Cairo, GA; daughter, Jessie Wright of Beachton, GA; son, Alphonso Williams (Nina) of Cairo, GA; son, Arnett Williams (Keisha) of Beachton, GA; daughter, Renea Miller (Theron) of Cairo, GA; son, Barnwell Williams of Thomasville, GA; son, Victor Williams (Yolanda) of Thomasville, GA; brother, Lewis Williams of Philadelphia, PA and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousin.
