Obituary

Alice Hadley, the seventh of nine children, was a lifelong resident of Thomas County, Georgia. She was a proud graduate of Douglas High School, Class of 1956. Alice was the devoted mother of one son, Andrea Henderson, who loved and adored her dearly. In 1978, she united in marriage with Morris B. Hadley, with whom she shared her life until his passing in December 1998. Alice peacefully departed this life at her home on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Mrs. Hadley dedicated 24 years of faithful service to Archbold Hospital before retiring due to declining eyesight, which eventually resulted in complete blindness. A woman of faith, she was a devoted member of Hadley CME Church, where she actively served in the church choir. Later in life, she continued her spiritual journey as a member of Ochlockonee Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves a cherished and devoted son of 65 years. He was her caregiver for 28 years. She was a devoted grandmother to Tasha Henderson (Killeen, Texas); Andrenia Henderson (US Army); Andrea Henderson Jr. (Tamara) of Atlanta, Georgia; Montrell Henderson (Thomasville, Georgia); seven great grandchildren: Megan, Maddie, River, Meadow, Monty, Ashton, and Sky. She also leaves her step daughter, Andre’ Marria (Walter); two nephews and two nieces to cherish; Benjamin Meeks (Annette); Lorenzo Meeks (Tilda) both of Thomasville, GA; Ann Collins (Tom); Shirley Johnson (Zeke - d) both of Thomasville, GA; brother-in-law: Jack Hadley (Christine) of Thomasville, GA; sisters-in-law: Agnes Hadley Adams (Reverend Dr. Charles G Adams - d) of Michigan; Naomi Hadley Monroe (Jerry - d); Lillie Hadley Witherspoon (Eugene Sr. - d); Lauretta Hadley (Richard - d) all of Thomasville, GA, Marie Robinson (Emmit - d) of Baltimore, MD and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
