Albert Rauls

July 27, 1934 — March 1, 2020

Albert Rauls was born on July 27, 1934 to the late Ellis Rauls and
Thelma Rauls. He was the fourth child of eight children.


He received his elementary and high school education in the Thomas
County Public School System at the Lincoln Brown High School of
Meigs, Georgia.


He received a B.S. Degree from Albany State College (University) of
Albany, Georgia; a Masters from Atlanta University of Atlanta, Georgia
and an E.D.D. Doctorate Degree from Florida State University of
Tallahassee, Florida. Albert was a long time member of Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity.


He was united in Holy Matrimony with Evelyn Robinson in 1954. To
this union, two sons were born, Alvin Lemuel Rauls and Wayne Jeffery
Rauls.


He joined the Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Leary,
Georgia in 1958, where he sang in the senior choir. He was ordained
deacon at this church in 1959. In 1965, he became affiliated with Shiloh
Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia, where he sang in the
senior choir and served as a Deacon. He became a member of St. Beulah
Primitive Baptist Church in Meigs, Georgia in 2010.


He was employed as a principal at the following schools; Leary
Elementary School of Leary, Georgia, Boston Elementary School of
Boston, Georgia and The East Baker High School of Newton, Georgia.


He served as Professor of Education at the following universities,
Alabama State University of Montgomery, Alabama and Alabama A&M
University of Huntsville, Alabama.


He leaves to mourn, his two sons, Alvin L. Rauls (Donna) of Madison,
Alabama and Wayne J. Rauls (Linda) of Meigs, Georgia; sisters, Sherri Ann
Rauls of Pensacola, Florida, Margie Rauls of Tallahassee, Florida, Virgina
Mitchell (Jim) of Pelham Georgia; two granddaughters, Cherrie Rauls and
Shonda Scott; two special nieces, Pamela Jenkins and Valerie West, both of
Meigs, Georgia; very special friend, Gloria Thomas and host of nieces,
nephews, many cousins and friends.


He is preceded in death by his father, Ellis Rauls and his mother, Thelma
Rauls, sisters, Ethel Rauls West, Mary Rauls Walden, Genene Rauls
Finderson, Olivia Rauls Bethea, Angie Copeland and one brother, Freddie
Rauls.
